Sophisticated Living 75
A very tasteful and high-quality apartment of approximately 88 m² situated on freehold land. This bright apartment is located on the second floor in the Museum Quarter – Amsterdam South.
The apartment was renovated in 2018 under the guidance of the Marcel Wolterink team. They are known for their use of natural materials, calm colors, and high-quality finishes. I find the apartment to be the perfect city apartment due to its comfort, sophisticated appearance, light, and location.
The Johannes Vermeerstraat is a quiet street now that the tram is no longer active, within walking distance you will find nice coffee spots such as Cafecito on van Baerlestraat, a good bakery, pastry shop, caterer, but also within walking distance there is a large supermarket. The ideal thing about this location is that both the city center and the bustling De Pijp are nearby. This gives you the ideal mix of conviviality, good catering and art/culture.

The building
The building on Johannes Vermeerstraat was constructed in 1912. The most popular architectural style of the 19th century is Neo-Renaissance, a period where the Dutch Renaissance from the 16th century was reinterpreted. Characteristic of Neo-Renaissance are the horizontal layers of natural stone between the brickwork and the stepped gables, which are hardly distinguishable from those of the Renaissance era. This architectural style emphasizes historical sentiment, accentuated by lavish decorations, especially noticeable in shops aiming to attract the public.
The residence was furnished under the guidance of Marcel Wolterinck’s team, who meticulously planned and executed the use of colors and materials down to the smallest details. Making the world more beautiful by orchestrating the complete living experience, focusing on even the minutest details – that is what Marcel Wolterinck’s team loves to do and excels in. Wolterinck is a high-end design firm specializing in architecture, interior design, styling, art, gardens, and products. Their holistic concepts emphasize the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces.
