Architecture
The Admiralenbuurt is the area bounded by Admiralengracht, Erasmusgracht, Orteliuskade, and Postjeswetering. Some facades on the eastern side of Admiralengracht are also considered part of this neighborhood from an urban planning perspective. The neighborhood was part of Plan West, the expansion plan that followed Plan Zuid. Plan West also included the Postjesbuurt (Westindische Buurt) and the Hoofddorppleinbuurt. The plan, developed by Van der Schaar, was implemented between 1922 and 1928, resulting in a significant portion of the Admiralenbuurt.
In Plan West, the ideas of the Amsterdam School were applied at the neighborhood level for the first time. In the early years of this movement, the style was used primarily for individual buildings or, at most, a single building block. For Plan West, a wide array of architects were enlisted, including Van Andel, Berlage, Blauw, Heineken and Kuipers, Kramer, Kropholler, Kruyswijk, Van der Linde, Van der Mey, Jan de Meyer, Van den Nieuwen Amstel, Roodenburgh, Rutgers, Staal, Westerman, and Wijdeveld.

Parking is available through a permit system on the public road (permit area West-1.2). A resident parking permit for West-1.2 allows you to park in West-1. The cost for a resident permit is €186.29 per 6 months, with a current waiting time of 6 months for this permit area. A second parking permit is not available in this area. Wat de eigenaresse gaat missen
Toen ik voor het eerst dit prachtige appartement aan de Admiralengracht binnenstapte, wist ik meteen dat dit de plek zou zijn waar ik me thuis zou voelen. Ik droomde er altijd al van om aan het water in Amsterdam te wonen. En niets werd minder waar. Het (zon)licht stroomde door de grote ramen, van voor tot achter en bood een adembenemend uitzicht over de brede mooie gracht. Ook de charme van de jaren ’30 architectuur elementen zoals de kamer-en-suite deuren was direct voelbaar.
De ochtenden waren mijn favoriete momenten wanneer ik de gordijnen opensloeg en uitkeek over de Admiralengracht, mijn bootje rustig dobberend voor de deur. Het gevoel van vrijheid en sereniteit dat dit uitzicht bood, was ongeëvenaard. Het uitzicht op de groene strook langs de gracht, met zijn prachtige bomen maakte van dit appartement een plek waar ik elke dag van heb genoten. Dit appartement heeft me zoveel moois te bieden gehad.
Op slechts enkele minuten lopen vind je een scala aan gezellige horecagelegenheden en speciaalzaken. Fort Negen voor heerlijk brood, Café Cook, Café Hendrix en Neef van Fred zijn een paar van mijn favoriete plekken. Het nabijgelegen Erasmuspark bood een fijn groen park waar ik met regelmaat kwam voor een picknick of een drankje bij Terrasmus.
Wat dit appartement zo uniek maakt, is de perfecte balans tussen stadse drukte en rustige sereniteit. Centraal gelegen in Amsterdam (je bent zó in de Jordaan!), met de A10 binnen handbereik, was ik altijd snel onderweg, maar voelde ik me toch ver weg van de hectiek.
Ik weet dat de volgende bewoner net zoveel van deze plek zal gaan houden als ik dat heb gedaan. Dit appartement aan éen van de mooiste grachten in Amsterdam, is een plek waar je je direct thuis voelt.
