De Roo Oly Molen
The space on the Singel is beautifully located along the historic canal belt, close to the charming Multatuliplein. We recently explored the area, which is currently used as retail/office space but is also perfectly suited for residential purposes. The high ceilings and characteristic beams provide ample opportunities to optimally layout the space. We have created an alternative floor plan featuring a light patio, an additional mezzanine level, and three spacious bedrooms. To give a good impression of the possibilities, realistic artist impressions have been made that closely resemble a future actual situation. Of course, a new owner is entirely free to apply their own design and layout here.

Design Vision
De ruimte is gelegen in het centrum van Amsterdam aan het Singel 188H, met uitzicht over de Torensluis. De royale plafondhoogte biedt tevens de mogelijkheid om een tussenverdieping aan te leggen, waardoor het woonoppervlak kan worden vergroot tot 188 m².
Het betreft een appartementsrecht, onderdeel van een VvE bestaande uit in totaal vier appartementsrechten, gelegen op eigen grond. Naast gebruik als woning is de bestemming als winkel-/kantoorruimte eveneens toegestaan.
Gebouw
Het grachtenpand is gebouwd in 1737 in de bouwstijl Lodewijk XIV. In de 18e eeuw werd Amsterdam gedomineerd door de Franse architectuur, met name de Lodewijkstijlen die zijn vernoemd naar de Franse koningen. De Lodewijk XIV-stijl, die in Amsterdam tussen 1700 en 1740 werd toegepast, kenmerkt zich door een zware en classicistische uitstraling. Anders dan in Frankrijk, waar de Lodewijkstijlen voornamelijk in het interieur werden gebruikt en de gevels classicistisch bleven, werd in Amsterdam het kenmerkende ornamentwerk ook aan de gevels zichtbaar. Deze stijl is herkenbaar aan de barokke vormentaal, met weelderige en zware symmetrische krullen, waarin vaak acanthusbladeren zijn verwerkt.
