The apartment at ‘t Hekelveld 4 is located in a complex consisting of two buildings (number 3 and 4) that were constructed under the direction of architect G.A. Roobol in 1927. The building unit is somewhat of an outlier in the neighborhood due to its design in the style of the Amsterdam School. Situated in the heart of Amsterdam, the building reflects the typical stylistic elements characteristic of the period in which it was built. Most notably, the facade features a staircase protruding outward like a wave on number 3. Another striking element is the transition from the base to the floors. The base, which has housed various shops, is executed in green natural stone. The floors are done in classic red-brown brick.
In 2002, the building was fitted with new window frames with double glazing while retaining its characteristic appearance. The large windows not only provide an abundance of natural light within the living spaces but also contribute to the aesthetic appeal of the facade.
In 2006/2007, the building underwent a complete internal renovation and was divided into apartments. At that time, a foundation investigation took place, during which the foundation received a code 2 and was found to be in good condition.

Accessibility
