Designvision
The Amstelhof complex is an ensemble designed by architect J.F. Berghoef in 1951/1952 and built by the Dutch Society for Housing (Nemavo).
During the post-World War II reconstruction period, due to the scarcity of materials and financial resources, new industrial construction methods were experimented with. This marked the beginning of a period known as reconstruction architecture. In addition to various newly developed Dutch prefab construction systems, such as the Welschen system, there was the longer-established English Airey system. To adapt and implement this system for the Netherlands, the Dutch Society for Housing (Nemavo) was established in 1947. Standard sizes, standard floor plans, and concrete prefab construction components were used. The residential blocks are constructed from reinforced concrete floors and walls. The facades are clad with concrete panels. The ground floors (plinth) of the blocks, which house the entrances with large canopies, garage boxes, and cellar boxes, are executed in red brick. The windows and roof trusses of the Airey houses are made of steel, the roof is clad with wood, and it has a bituminous covering.
Living and cooking
The L-shaped living room is located at the end of the building block, featuring three side windows. With natural daylight entering from two sides, the living room is very bright and a pleasant space to reside in. There is ample room for both a seating and dining area. Unique to this type of apartment are the large side windows facing south, which make the living area exceptionally bright. The entire apartment is fitted with a PVC floor.
The open kitchen, yet to be installed, is situated at the rear, where you will also find the connection for the washing machine in a separate closet. The apartment is delivered without a kitchen, allowing you to install one according to your own taste and preference (see alternative floor plan for ideas).

Parking
Parking is available on public streets through a permit system (permit zone Zuid 4.3 Veluwebuurt).
With a parking permit for Zuid 4.3 Veluwebuurt, you are also allowed to park in Zuid-3 and Zuid-4 zones. A residential parking permit costs €186.29 per six months.
Currently, there is no waiting list for this permit zone. A second parking permit costs €465.73 per six months (Source: Municipality of Amsterdam, September 2024).
There is also the option to rent a garage box within walking distance of the apartment. The garage boxes are located at President Kennedylaan 681 to 921. The rental cost is €200 per month.
