Ronald van de Bijl
Real Estate Agent / Appraiser (partner)
Ronald would prefer not to turn down a sale, but he never goes for the quick deal
‘I have no problem selling a property, but I do it my own way’. And that involves listening to the client, analysing the situation, and giving honest advice when it is needed. ‘Sometimes I tell people not to buy because it isn’t a good property for them.’
Ronald studied Commercial Economics in Zwolle, and after a stint in IT, he switched to the property world, where the diversity appeals to him. In Amsterdam, no two properties are the same. He may sell a historic canal-side house from 1650 one day, then a more uniform 1970s property or a sunny 1900s residence on Vondelpark the next. By now, he can quickly get a read on whether a property is a match for the client or not.
Ronald appreciates the company’s environmental friendliness, which is why the Broersma team cycles to meetings. ‘And it’s very Amsterdam, as well. We get there quickly, we’re on time, and we never have parking problems.’ Asked about his favourite places in the capital, Ronald will always say Amsterdamse Bos, where he goes on walks with his children, visits the goat farm, or grabs a few pancakes. He also loves catching up with friends at Bosboom Toussaintstraat, in the Oud-West neighbourhood: ‘The neighbourhood restaurant De Italiaan is my favourite spot for a beer and a pizza or pasta.’
