Daniël de Bont
Real Estate Agent / Appraiser (partner)
Daniël teams up with the client to make the purchase or sale a success
‘These are close collaborations, I sometimes speak to clients five or six times a day,’ says Daniël, who is aware that buying a property may be an everyday thing for him, but for the client, it may happen just once or twice in a lifetime. ‘From a business perspective, I get satisfaction out of closing a deal on a purchase or sale, but of course it’s more important for the clients to be happy and satisfied in their new home.’
Daniël studied Real Estate & Brokerage at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, then joined Broersma as a trainee and never left. ‘I know every facet of the company and my industry, from putting up for sale signs to closing the deal,’ says Daniël, who loves the game of negotiation.
Advising on redeveloping historic properties is his passion. Daniël thinks back with joy on an empty church at Hoofddorpplein square that was renovated into ten urban villas. Daniël knows what clients are looking for, and as a real estate agent, he was involved from start to finish, from the first drawings to the final sale. He believes it is important to preserve ceilings, panel doors, and other unique elements when restoring a property. ‘A home is something you pass on,’ says Daniel. ‘You can live there for a while and make it “your own”, but each property should maintain its own unique character.’
If you ask him, the renovated former Citroën garage on Stadionplein square in the Oud-Zuid neighbourhood is an architectural masterpiece. Daniel points out that the building, designed by Jan Wils in 1930, is a listed building, and he recommends Restaurant Wils that now calls the space home: ‘Michelin-starr chef Joris Bijdendijk heads up the kitchen, and the food is delicious.’
