Jelle wants clients to fall in love with their homes

‘My motives are never financial. My primary goal is to make people happy,’ says Jelle, ‘That’s the ultimate proof that we’re doing a good job.’ He emphasises the importance of a home as one of life’s basic necessities, where you go to sleep and where you wake up, and where your surroundings play a key role. ‘We know every neighbourhood in Amsterdam, and when we host a showing, we’re always looking ahead for the client, imagining what it would be like to live there. Is there great coffee, and where can the children go to school or kindergarten?’

Jelle studied Management, Economics and Law in Groningen and is a licensed estate agent – a field he learned from an early age. ‘With a real estate agent for a father, I always had a passion for property.’ And Jelle is no fan of sitting still. He would rather be on his bike, cycling from property to client. ‘The city energises me.’

He lives south of Vondelpark, in a building that was once a garage and has since been converted into a home with a playroom, a conservatory, and French doors opening into the garden. Café Hans is his local “brown café”, and for coffee and cake, you can find him at Trakteren, a caffeine Mecca on Jan Pieter Heijestraat.

Jelle appreciates living so close to Broersma’s Vondelpark office. ‘I cycle through the park with my son to work in the morning. His school is nearby’, says Jelle, who prioritises finding fresh air and greenspace, while still living in the city. ‘Amsterdam has so much to offer. I want everyone to see that.’
