What the residents will miss
When we went searching for our family home, we both wanted to stay in the neighborhood. We walked with the stroller down Holbeinstraat to Beatrixpark and said to each other, “What a lovely street; if something comes up for sale here…” After a search, we found Holbeinstraat 55 and were instantly in love. Besides the street and the neighborhood, the wide facade with the central front door, the spacious ground floor with the possibility of creating 3 bedrooms, the garden, and the large basement immediately appealed to us. We could already picture ourselves sitting on the bench in front of the door, overlooking the boats on Stadionkade. Considering family expansion, we created 3 bedrooms on the ground floor. By installing an open staircase in the middle of the house, we connected the basement to the rest of the house, making it a cohesive whole. The children have played wonderfully in the garden and in the basement. We will especially miss the latter. Holbeinstraat is unique in its kind, with wide sidewalks and play opportunities on the street, with the central feature being the basketball hoop on the square. Both young and old enjoy the street life, with the highlight being the annual street BBQ at the end of summer. Being a part of this gives a pleasant feeling every day. Now the time has come for us to say goodbye with a heavy heart to this special house where many memories have been made. Fortunately, we do not have to say goodbye to the neighborhood.
